An SPR is used to study the absorption of material onto a gold surface or the interaction between molecules in a buffer and molecules attached to a gold surface. It can be used for the same applications as affinity chromotography and all methods are easily transferable. Common applications are studies of interaction between biological molecules, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics and concentration monitoring. Measurements on nano, micro and macro scale are possible. This SPR has dual channels for simultaneous measurement of sample and reference sample and a sensitivity of 0.35 µRIU. It is principally intended for teaching, but can be used by researchers as well.
